Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles - 1 Pair

I just used the poles to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. They were great EXCEPT can someone tell me the secret of adjusting the straps? They were great in my bare hands but when I put on 2 pairs of gloves for the finally ascent I could not (nor could anyone else on the trek) figure out how to expand the straps. That was a serious hinderance on the way up. I have the compact size. Help. larkeadams@gmail.com
