Patagonia Capilene 4 Bottom - Women's

I've been wearing SmartWool as my primary baselayer for both upper and lower body. Recently, I've noticed small holes appearing in all of my SmartWool garments, which I recently saw someone on the boards attribute to machine drying the garments. I like my performance clothes, especially the baselayers, to be easy care for the most part, meaning I can wash and dry them without worry. I know that the Capilene is not wool, however I want to be sure not to have to worry about lots of runs through the washer and dryer damaging the clothes. Has anyone ever had any problem with this?

SmartWool NTS Midweight Long Underwear Bottom - Women's

Write your question here... Can anyone attest to the rise on these NTS bottoms? Most of the long underwear I've tried on ends up so much higher than my mid-rise pants with a thin, tight elastic band around my true waist. Very uncomfortable. These look more "modernized" though. Any comments?

I'm looking for something I could wear underneath bike shorts (I know, I should be going bare). But I'm worried about the seams. Thoughts?
