Kelty Moraine Backpack - 3300-3600 cu in

I just used my Kelty Moraine Backpack for 2 days hike. After the first half a day my front hip bone area on both sides were completely sore, bruised not chapped. I have seen other backpacks with more thick foam padding for the hip strap. Is it just my packs design or am I doing something wrong?Mary
