LEKI Wanderfreund Speedlock Pole - Single

I am 6'4" and 270#. I have had foot surgery and this pole has been recommended with the caveat that the binding devices may not be strong enough and slip. I am an active guy and this will help me to hike if it is a) strong and b)adequate length. Any suggestions since the one I was looking at is out of stock.
Thanks
