Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Overboot

Here's a question, hopefully for Jon Webb.
I just picked up a pair of these as we have some extreme conditions headed our way and my feet tend to run just a little cold. When I took them out of the plastic I noticed that they cover the entire boot, including the tread. Are you meant to cut out the bottom to custom fit them to you boots?
Thanks in advance!

Outdoor Research Crocodiles Gaiter - Men's

I wear a normal street shoe of 14 (some 49 European and even a 15 in Merrells due to the fact that some run short), but I also have skinny calves (6'2", 183 lbs). According to the size chart, I need a XXL in the Crocs, but I read reviews stating that L or XL would be fine. I'm a bit confused. Isn't it really the shoe length that would determine the size in the standard Crocs?

Nick

i have a pair of OR Gaiters I purchased about 1995. Not sure

Outdoor Research Crocodiles Gaiter - Men's

i have a pair of OR Gaiters I purchased about 1995. Not sure of the model, but have Blue tops and were expensive then. I have 2 questions:

1: The bottom straps are almost worrn clear through. I am afraid they will break the next time I use them. Does OR furnish spare straps I could sew in myself, or do I need to send them back to OR for repair.

2) I wear size 13 boots and am 6'-2" and weigh 170 lbs. Can you say thin. The top strap will not adjust tight enough to hold them from falling down over my calfs. If I bought a new pair of size "large" would they be long enough and still fit over my boots, plus be smaller around the top so that they would not fall down?
