CamelBak Hellion Hydration Pack

I am looking at using this bag as my aid pack as a ski patroller, and was wondering about the internal organization. Are there several small pockets around the bag (bonus if there are on the inside as well), or is it just the standard bottomless pit of one main pocket?

CamelBak Vantage 30 Hydration Pack - 3L

I have the old version of this pack that is blue. Does the new one also have a metal stay in the DVIS panel? This was one of the upgrades I wanted to see cuz it tended to flop around a bit when loaded up.

Also, how do you guys tighetn the waist belt? I usually have to unbuckle, pull the webbing, then force the buckles together to get a truly snug fit. I wish they would have a better design for cinching down the waistbelt. The design on my Kelty Redcloud is great - there's a metal clip/ring that's swen on to the hipbelt about 5 inches from the buckle. The webbing passes through this clip and so when you pull, you pull the webbing out away from you and that pulls the straps tight, giving you a really snug fit.

Or am I just picky about how the waist belt tightens?

CamelBak H.O.S.S Pack - 3L

Will this be comfortable for a 4-5 hour hike? I'm looking to put in a DSLR sized camera, some food, small gear (handheld gps, flashlights, knife, etc.), and maybe a sweater.

For those that have had this, how does it hold up to rain? Camelbak says it has a waterproof main compartment. I can't find many packs in this size range that would fit my need to protect my camera from water. Considered the Vantage 40, but that seems too big for my needs, and the H.A.W.G. NV seems too small. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears.
