Hi,

Salomon Shogun Ski

Hi,
I've read the reviews and the Shoguns sound excellent. Can someone please advise on what length I should buy.
I ski fairly aggresively, 5'7" in height and 187 lbs.
I spend most of the time off piste and enjoy trees. Should I go for the 173's or the 182's. My weight would sway me towards the 182's - but my height and tree skiing is making me wonder about 173;s.
Can someone help me out with a decision. Thanks, Paul

Volkl Gotama Ski

So I have this question posted below on Dash's review and then decided to throw it up here also. I have the 186's and will be mounting the Barons on them and I' am trying to figure out where I want to mount them, currently thinking about +1 which seems to be the consensus on TGR's forum for all around performance with some switch riding. However I have also heard +2 from Ingrid below so I'am just throwing this out cause I want a good slashy/playful ski that will also charge and slay the pow. I' am asking for too much? let me know what ya think. Thanks

I just moved to Breckenridge for the season and plan on skiing

Salomon Shogun Ski

I just moved to Breckenridge for the season and plan on skiing back country, bumps, glades, bowls and hopefully lots of powder. Im stuck between the Shogun 173 and the 182. I'm 5'9" 155 and am an aggressive/expert skier. I'd like to be able to do some spins in the park, but def don't want to compromise what I really came here to do and end up drowning in pow on a short set of sticks. Would 182 be too long for the late season bumps and the thick woods? Would 173 be too short and will I sink when we get dumped on? What do ya think? Any info on the turning radius between the two size differences? Ive heard these are slow to turn so I am not sure about the larger ski.

Also, what size is appropriate? I am 6'1" 190lbs. I want something that I can grow with over a few seasons as i improve, but don't want to be too frustrated in the mean time.

Line Prophet 100 Ski

I'm coming from Rossi Bandit XX 177s. Loved the XX in fresh powder and front side. But when Colorado powder turns to tracked up crud they get squirrely and feel like my old straight, racing 210s. I'm 6' and 180 lbs., skied for 34 years and still love the powder. No more racing speeds or hucking due to an aging knee injury. I know the twin tips make the Prophet 100 ski shorter but like everyone else asking, should I go 179 (I'm not getting younger) or 186 (My racing background sometimes leads to aggressive skiing). Thanks.
