Hope this helps."
- Christian Johnson 02/25/2009

I'm trying to buy the right size of Streaks for my dad. He has a wide foot and says that he likes to wear 9.5s in street shoes, but after I asked him to measure his foot on a sheet of paper, he came up with 26 cm, which is only a Size 8 according to Montrail! The disparity was already freaking me out when I came across Christian's post about the gap between the Size 8 and 8.5 Streaks. Christian, how many cm long are your feet? Thanks a lot.

Montrail Mountain Masochist Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Vitesse has been the only trail running shoe that I have worn. Which shoe would be the best replacement - Masochist, Streak, or Hardrock? Or a shoe from another company? I liked the comfort/fit and protection offered by the Vitesse, although faster drying would be the one improvement I'd want.

I've tried the Hardrocks and Masochists and liked neither. I'm looking at this shoe, the Lynx, and the FC1.1 (any other suggestions?). I do a lot of hiking on rocky, jagged terrain, and am looking for something with good forefoot protection. Any suggestions amongst these three? Weight doesn't matter that much to me (I won't be using them for running). Thanks!

Now I get online and find out that they are 07s and should be a lot cheaper (??). $57.00??? I mean, I don't mind at all that they are from 2007, I actually like its looks better than the current model I saw on the salomon site. However I definitely mind whether I should not have paid 115 for them. Have not worn them and will return if this price of 115 was indeed crazy. Shame cuz I really loved them. PLEASE ADVISE!! Thanks in advance.

Does the xt wings have some type of rock plate? I have 2 pair

Salomon XT Wings Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Does the xt wings have some type of rock plate? I have 2 pair of Salomon trail shoes that are 3 - 4 years old. I don't know the model names. It's pretty rocky where I run. I could feel sharp rocks on the ball of my foot with both pair. Also, both pair seem to lack a little in stability control. It would be pretty easy to roll an ankle. I will probably give the xt wings a try so any feed back regarding improvements to this shoe would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to replace the last pair of my Hardrocks (the original) for a couple of years with nothing coming close so far. Probably many that ran in the original Hardrock can relate to this. Thanks

I'm currrently running in Asics Trail attack WR 5. They feel great and I have no problem with it. But I'm now looking for a more solid shoe with the same amount of couscioning and more durability. Will the wildcat do the deal? Size wise are they the same as Asics? Pros and cons compared to the Asics I'm using now? I'm 6-3 180, run 45 miles a week and planning to increase the mileage. Thanks

La Sportiva Fireblade Trail Running Shoe - Men's

I have been running in Montrail Continental Divide shoes for about a year, after finding that Montrail Hardrocks are just to disconnected from the trail, due to their amazingly thick cushioning. I also run in Inov-8 Roclite 305 and race in mudrock 280 - and I can feel EVERY grain of dirt. How do these shoes compare? I have a friend in Canada who loves LaSportiva, but I think there may be some selection bias there. . . . Does this shoe offer a best of both worlds of cushioning/protection AND feel on the trail?
