Armada JJ Ski

I'm 5' 10" 185, I'm a good skier, I ski Vail every season, hit the back bowls, but also rip groomers, and occasionally go into the trees and the bumps on the front side. I want to be able to ski the pow with ease, and at the same time have enough maneuverability to go through glades safely. Like I said before I also rip groomers hard! I'm in outer mongolia a lot, the Minturn Mile is one of my favorite things to do. Basically I want to know if I should go with the 175's or the 185's, I wish they made a 180. What should I do? Are both sizes 115 underfoot?
-SHG

K2 ObSETHed Alpine Ski

I am 5'10 and 180 lbs with an athletic build. I ski mainly vail, beaver creek and a-basin. I am a very aggressive skier and do a lot of tree skiing as well as side country and the back bowls. For the last few years I was riding the 06 Seths in 179 and i recently bought this years Obsethed in a 189. I am now wondering if this is too big for me to swing around in tight trees and if should switch to the 179's? Any suggestions?

K2 Hellbent Alpine Ski

I am 6'3 190lbs. I own a pair of seths at 179, and find they work well for me. I have tried lonber skis and have trouble in hard bumps with them....sometimes hard to avoid on overskied runs at Snowbird.

I also own a pair of Hellbents 179. I feel they may be short for me, and just don't know if i should spend the bucks to get the bigger ones. Is it wrong to ski them so short? I get enough float from them, but they are squirly in the chop.

I just don't want something that will be too hard to turn in the trees or the hardpack.

I also don't want to have to buy a bigger ski bag.

I am a level 8-9 skier.

Is there any advantage to skiing something like this short? Or should I go bigger. One rep said that hardly anyone skiis them in the 189 because they are hard to turn in the trees.

K2 Pontoon Alpine Ski

Mounting Freerides on Pontoons Crazy?

I’m considering mounting my Fritschi Freeride bindings on a pair of Pontoons. Is this crazy? What kind of brakes work? What type of skins will attach, to a shovel that big, will I have to make up a custom rig, and if so is it even practical to skin on a pair of toons?

I sure wouldn’t want to be on a tight side hilling situation. I am also concerned about the touring capabilities of a reverse camber ski with the toons dimensions.

I envision using this as more of a side country access set up rather than for multi-day BC trips and would primarily use if for inbounds but would like the versatility of the AT set up. Has anyone done this?
